Blue Horizon started in late 2014 as a technical exercise to understand Unity and its capabilities compared to other game engines.
After months of prototyping it was decided that an openworld first person game should be created with a pirate and Caribbean story. This unique story would not mirror other games or films of the same genre but be something totally new.
An entire world had to be created from scratch, including nearly all the coding excluding a few free components from the Asset store. The name of the game was the Directors step-son's idea.
The game continues to be developed and is nearly complete, aside from bug fixing and finishing off. All of the main islands are built, all of the custom made NPCs are ready with dialogs and tasks, and the enemies have personalities, attack patterns and weaknesses.
